Florida State University and The Dwellings are partnering to address social determinants of health in supportive housing communities.

An innovative, holistic approach with high-impact, global application.

This program will uniquely integrate substance use and mental health counseling, along with medical care, to address the needs of residents of communities designed to help the disadvantaged. The creation of this program will provide access, care, and education in an innovative, novel manner. Once we’ve achieved program success within this partnership, we will expand and scale this program to impact the region and the nation.

Program Goals

Collaborate
Collaborate

Conduct novel, collaborative projects that help to innovate substance use and mental health treatment research.

The Dwellings assists individuals in the Tallahassee area who do not traditionally meet the requirements for most housing options. Eradicating homelessness is not as simple as giving someone a roof over their head, and Dwellings residents are given resources to ensure the residents continue to grow and maintain success.
